This Empty-Nesting Single Retiree will be alone today on Valentine's Day -- and yes, it is going to be ok for me (in fact, it is NICE -- so quiet and peaceful).

I was a long term single parent, raised two children through their selfish, nasty, me-first, horrid hormonal-raging teen/young adult years, suffered through the disrespect (and abuse), and yes, I am very GLAD to be spending time now ALONE with NO Toxic Individuals around me .. and that is CLEARLY my wish.

I also ended up with a broken foot recently (broke my toes at the joints, and broke a couple of metatarsals too), so MY ability to walk is limited (I am on crutches and it is painful) .. and this happened because I am repairing my home (myself) after one of the adult children WILLINGLY HELPED my ex-spouse (from approx a decade and half AFTER Divorce) Burglarize my HOME!) ... and not one cared enough to help me FIX the home at all ... so ...

I am enjoying MY HOME in peace and quiet, under an electric throw, with my foot elevated, splinted up, taped up, compression wrapped, in a heavy support boot, and yes, it is painful, but PLEASANT to NOT have to be on my feet all the time (because I do NOT need toxic, selfish individuals around me who won't lift a finger to help just make demands).
