I'm to have IVF this month. I told my doc that I don't want to have twins. I insist on transfering only one fertalized egg. what do you think? He said that it's against his ethics to take out one implanted egg if two are implanted... need ur help badly!!!!!

you should use both the eggs. the chances are only one of them will work. trust me go for both. if you don't get pregnant you will regret not using both of the eggs.

I would go for two because being blessed with twins would be a lot better than no baby. Also, even if you implanted one egg it could split and result in identical twins. Of course it is a smaller chance of that happening but it does happen. I have a faith that I believe God does not put more on a person than they can handle. I do think if you have strongly different opinions than your doctor I might consider switching. Ultimately it is the patients decision. So good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd have both! At least you have 2 chances of getting an egg fertilized then. Wherese if you only have one and it doesn't get fertilized then you have to go through it all again.

Also, twins are great, and they are great for each other. Most of them have such close relationships, its lovely to see. It may be a bit more hard work if you did end up with twins but I think it will all be worth it!

usually they do two to increase the chances that ONE of them will take and be fertilized... there isn't any guarantee though that they both won't be fertilized... you can always just do one, but if that one doesn't take, you'll have to pay to have it done again (and again if necessary and so forth). You can also seek a 2nd opinion of another doctor and find out the statistics and rates of how many times it actually results in twins... Good Luck!!

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

The doctor and you have different ethics and also you are the parent you know what you want. Are you ready for one or two babies crying? will the doctor be with you when the babies need changing, feeding, etc. don't let him decide for you because you already know what you want. It's your future and your choice not his please please do not let him call the shots he is your doctor not your husband.

If you don't want two, I wouldn't have two implanted. But you'd have to prepare yourself for one not making it. Good luck.
