Is anyone surprised ?I don't see why.We have a nanny state which does not recognise that if a child is naughty it should be punished -not by knocking seven bells out of them but there has to be an ultimate punishment,Parents who flit from partner to partner give the children no stability the kids come second to the new love life.
I work part time in a school and the kids all seem to want to push staff to the limit as however badly behaved they are parents will always come up to school shouting the odds about little Johnnie
Until discipline is reinstated for kids and in parents lives there is no chance of an improvement.I would like to see how Netherlands tackle this!!!!!

I'm glad that was announced today. But the Gov. is still trying to wriggle out of it saying they used some figures from 7 years ago and things have got better! Ejits!! We've been referring to Sweden for years on the way families are seen as important! WHY does this Government (or any other) ever LISTEN?

yes said but true, but look at how the UK has let down the little children. the royals have Prince Charles and he screwed over his first wife and made a fool out of the whole royal family. Then the queen is gonna live forever with bad teeth and that silly purse..and soon the grand babies will be grown up and take over the family business...William and harry is UK only chance at having some studs back on the throne..they will marry some nice looking dames..not like Chuck...and ever thing will be Jake.

Well said Paul Y . The brits (royals) were created and reared on bastardisation, hence they create a role model of..bastardisation. Gone are true family values from the UK. The incest ridden british royals should be stood against a wall and shot !

have to agree, i left the uk because i felt as a parent with 5 kids, there was a good chance a couple of them would get into drugs, etc. seems as though families are not a high priority anymore, people's values have declined. still love england but love my kids more.
