I can't think of a single reason, EXCEPT
1)Someone dressing up as a chicken may wrap several white ones around their body
2)They were a Spice Girl
3)They are making a feather boa blanket for the winter.
4)They are hoarding all the feather boas in the country to prevent their crossdressing brother/dad/boyfriend from accessing one
I could think of a lot more reasons, although I don't know if they should be referred to as 'reasons'. 'Excuses' is probably a better word ;)

Most likely it was for a Hen's Night or Fancy Dress Party. OR She's outrageous & fabulous! If it's a guy and he claims he's straight, then he's not.
