thats a good idea, I'm pretty sure the "base" of voters for the liberals would have to pinch and save to be able to pay the tax. I honestly feel sorry for those people, they are poor and uneducated and preyed upon by communist nuts that will take anybody.......

I believe that every person should be responsible for tax on a individual basis, I do not believe the governments should payout so much in hand outs, people should be made to work or do charity work in the community to receive state hand outs, not just sit on their backsides and get everything.
Tax should been simplified so you now when you get your wages the tax is deducted and there is no further tax to pay, like VAT, even if tax is 50% of your wage at least it would be fair and everyone would be paying that same.

Well, no.
It is undemocratic for a government to charge people for the right to vote. essentially it would only allow those rich enough to afford the poll Tax the right to vote which goes against the key aspect of democracy, free, universal sufferage.
I dont relish the thought of living in a feudal society.

I'm not in favor of any tax period. Only enough for infrastructure and defense, etc. We already get taxed when we get paid, when we spend, when we die, when we build, when we invest, when we buy a luxury, when we buy gas, when we through something in the landfill, when we use a telephone, when we buy Alcohol, when we smoke, when we stay in a hotel, when we buy appliances, when we get married, when we buy food, when we make money on an investment, when we get cable TV, when we sell land, and when we breathe. Now Dem's want to raise taxes!

No, it was because it prevented most African Americans from voting. It was a political tool to prevent them from voting because many couldn't find jobs because of the discrimination practices in the southern states. As for the "idiot" comment, how in the world are you Republicans ever going to make any inroads based on fairness and decency with persons of color? How are you going to work with Obama or Hillary once they become president? Since they'll actually have some common sense, I doubt if they'll be asking any of you for your opinions for the next 8 years. All they have to do is to do research of 19th century politics.

I am a concervative republican and am very much opposed to many views of the democratic party. I still respect democrats and try to avoid name calling. Sometimes I fail, but I do try. please keep this in mind, and don't make Republicans look bad.
