We tend to look and seek to understand the universe in 2 ways: in a 3-dimensional matrix on the terrestrial world, and in a 2-dimensional matrix outside the solar system enclosing our planets, but using our ideas of space and time. It only seems correct to assume that there may be some other active dimension not available to the faculties of reason and logic to udevelop a n acceptable explanation of the totality of our conceptual knowledge. Please think positively and try to offer helpful comments and also understand that I am not seeking a mystic answer to this enquiry. Many thanks.

With the String Theory version of the Universe we are up to 11 dimensions already. I think any more than 4 dimensions are beyond mere mortals and in the realms of mathematicians and philosophers with heads full of squirrels.
