Absolutely! I think our government could only benefit from having fresh blood every so many years. I do believe that many people seeking higher office do have good intentions, but they become corrupted by the system over time. Further they begin to lose touch with the people in general being awash in the fantasy which is Washington D.C. Given limited time frames in which to act these same people would be more focused on agenda than in trying to maintain and increase their power. There are many people who say this would be bad because we would lose experienced leadership. Here again I disagree. This attitude is born out of the idea that Representatives actually run the government. This is an incorrect assumption. Civil servants run the government and perform the actions which keep government operating. Representatives are merely the face of policy.

Absolutely! Term limits for Federal Government should go as follows: 6 terms for House, 2 terms for Senate, 3 terms for President.

Why? It all balances out to 12 years. Anything beyond that is out of touch with American Society, and runs a risk of becoming deeply ensconced in corruption and greed. Also, no particular branch of government should be allowed to serve more time than another. We are a nation of equals are we not?

Yes, I would.

I see a lot of senators that start out wanting to actually help. But it seems the longer they are in Washington, the more corrupt and concerned about their own personal power they become. If we limit there time there, perhaps more would get done.

I WOULD SUPPORT THAT, BUT ALTHOUGH SOME THINK 2 TERMS, I WOULD FAVOR A MAX OF THREE TERMS=18YEARS. I FEEL IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE WHAT YOU'VE SET OUT TO DO WITH THAT AMOUNT OF TIME, YOU NEED TO BE DONE!
THE SENATE RUNS AT A SNAILS PACE BY DESIGN, WHICH IS WHY I FAVOR THREE TERMS!

YES! They get far too jaded and concerned with their own power.
Why not limit it to two terms just like the president?

No. It's undemocratic. People should be able to be represented by the person of their choice, not the person of their choice except the guy who represented them last time.

Yes, I most certainly would, but most Congressmen (and women) wouldn't go for it. It would have to be voted on by Congress and the Senate.

We need them badly,2 terms in a job and out.
While we're at it ,let's trim their pay and benefits by 60%.
That way ,we get those who really give a damn about trhe country and less about their egos.
