Helium atoms are very small, and so it is very difficult to seal them inside something. Basically, they leaked out, and so your balloon no longer displaced more air than it weighed, that is, it became denser (on average) than the air around it. When that happened, your balloon sank to the ground.

THE BALOON IS NOT PERFECTLY SEELED SO THERE IS HELIUM LEAKAGE
