sad to say i am intimidated by my own race...and I dont know why but I think its the more because of the way some black men dress that I stereotype them as gang members. I went into a store one time and all black men were in there and i started shaking panicing walked over to the ATM and felt like passing out. I know its wrong.

I'm mixed-race (black, white, other) and I can honestly say that I've never been frightened or intimidated by black people. I just never have been. Actually I usually feel more comfortable around Black people.

I will definitely admit that sometimes when Black guys hit on me, like, in the parking lot or "holla" at me or whatever, sometimes I will run. But I am known to run when anybody tries to "holla" at me. :)

I definitely know what you're talking about, though: I think this is something that is bred into people, particularly women. Usually it's white women in their 30's or older who have been socialized to be afraid of black men for whatever outdated reason. I would say that that's becoming less and less commonplace, though it certainly still happens in alot of places.

Not really. I don't really understand why people do feel threatened. I've never had a black person do anything bad to me but I've had a lot of bad experiences with white people. I am white before you start wondering.

No i am not. I am white and when i am around people of different colour i do not even notice that they are different.

BUT IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE, white people are not white, we are just a very light shade of brown. Black people are not balck, they are just a very dark shade of brown. We are all brown people, just different shades of brown. So dont see why some people make such a fuss over colour.

It is true that a lot of the time we do have cultural differences but that is what makes every group of people unique.

there have been times when i have felt much more intimidated by other 'white' people, than 'black' people.

'Black and white' are all equal and that if every one where the same, it would be unintersting and dull.

God made us all, we are all the same in different ways. ; )

No I can give as well as I can take. Treat me with respect and I will do the same. Actualy I believe it to be the opposite, I believe blacks are afraid of the world. What other culture goes out of there way to dress like hoodlums.

Omg no way ! I may be a white girl, but I grew up in Detroit baby. Black people are far from intimidating. I love them.

Absolutely NOT! The color of a person's skin doesn't make a difference to me. I know good people of all races. I have also met people I do not want as part of my life of all races.

Everything depends on a person. Generally - No, skin color means nothing for me.
