I need a v.92 connection for receiving phone calls while on line and wonder if present installed modem with a phone jack as well as a modem jack is capable of v.92 connection.

V92 is the latest standard.
V92 was introduced in 2000.

I would expect if it was made in 2001 or later it uses the V92 standard.

No. Whether it is V.92 capable depends on the chip on the card, not the number of phone jacks. Get the maker and model number off the modem and look it up online. Will tell you whether the card is v.92 capable.
