Valentine's Day is to celebrate love - unfortunately the industry years ago saw the chance to make money from it and do so. But it is ultimately us the consumer to who buys into it, if there was no money to be made in it, then they wouldn't promote it so heavily. I personally will purchase a card, and make my hubby a gift of my love - like his favorite dinner, a cake and some extra attention. We both do not buy into all the extras the holidays shove - our love is enough - we don't feel the need for all the extras that the industry would have one believe is necessary to prove your love.
