During installation of HP Inkjet Printer Driver on my computer the file under the name hpboid.exe was copied. Is this file required for printer working?

When installing this printer driver in Win2K/XP, new startup key with file name HP-Status-Server or hpboid.exe is usually created. I saw some useful info on this here: http://www.securitystronghold.com/gates/spyware-adware-solutions/HP-Status-Server_hpboid.exe_solution.htm
I hope this will be helpful

It is probably loading the driver that detects and runs the printer. If you want to know if you can print without the file, rename it (change the exe part of the name to something else). Reboot (and the file will not be loaded) and see if you can print.

If you can print, you do not have to have the file loaded. If you can not print, then you need the file. Change its name back to exe.
