I bought a Dyson two years ago and I LOVE IT! I have two cats and I haven't found anything that picks up fur like my Dyson. Plus, it's bagless so you can empty the cannister as needed. It's a little more expensive but I think it's worth every penny.

We have a HOOVER and it is a good one. It has a hypo alergenic filter because my granddaughter is alergic to a lot of things and the filter takes care of that. It also has all kinds of attachments as well as being bagless. The handle folds down to make it easier to store. You can either hang it on the wall or put it in a small short corner.
If you need parts it is a lot easier to buy a part for a hoover then a lot of other brands. You won't need to replace the whole vacuum for a new one, just because you can't get the parts it needs.
Hoover is also a lot less expensive and works just as well as the other expensive ones. I wouldn't be without my vacuum.

I have a Kirby for about 18 years. It has worked better than any other vacuum I have ever purchased. Don't get scammed into buying the shampoo extra. It is not worth it.

If you want to go on the higher end, a Dyson is definitely the way to go. I have owned my Dyson for 5 years now and it is still sucking just as much as the day I bought it.

Buy the H20 Vac. It has far more suction power than any other vacuumm. Also, with the water....you can see how much dirt you've gotten rid of.
