Maybe you watched too many macho movies or read too many love novels wherein the hero just grits his teeth and puts out a stiff upper lip. When you're in the real world, people bled, and yes, they do cry. You should be glad your husband has a way of venting his feelings instead of just keeping it inside and then he dies of a massive coronary attack

Whoa. It's just pathetic?
Ya know...guys DO have feelings as well...and if he only cries in front of you, that means he trusts you with his feelings more than anyone else. And as his wife, I think you should be caring about him a little more in this case, instead of how pathetic he is to cry. How else is a guy supposed to show when he's sad, anyhow? Punch something? Want a husband that goes out and gets drunk and beats you? Would that be a turn on for you?
Anyway. If you DO find it horribly unappealing when he cries, I guess you ought to tell him. But seriously, it's just the way he is, and if you can't learn to love him despite of it, well...

Wow, you're a keeper. You know, if you had said he cries at sappy movies, or something like that, ok. But, you said there was a death in the family. Was this immediate family? Was this an extended family member he was really close to?
Let's put it this way, when my grandmother passed, I was "an emotional wresk" as well. She helped raise me until my Mom married my Dad(who later adopted me). In cases like that, there is nothing wrong with him having these problems.
Hell, I cried when each of my children were born. I guess, according to you, that is pathetic as well.
Then, if he never shows emotion at all, you would claim he isn't romantic, and you never know what he is feeling. You should be supporting him during this time. Not putting him down and thinking of only what you want.

You were probably raised in a house where it was not ok for people to show emotion. I wouldn't like it if my husband were crying all the time but once in awhile is ok. He is human for goodness sake and he is going through a rough time. Can't you just be supportive to him at this time? Just be happy that you have a sensitive man.

Wow! That is so incredibly insenstive it made me cringe. Crying is a release of emotion- something we ALL have to a degree. I feel sorry for your husband, it seems he really trusts you to be sensitive to his feelings, and you aren't. My husband has cried before- I can count on one hand in 6 years. But I don't get the "turn-off" feeling.....

I'm sorry, but I was just lmao at the way you worded things. Seriously, though, my husband has cried so many times, and I just cringe, because it's always about his emotional ****, and he's always so needy, I feel like my little issues are always on a back burner. Besides, a lot of times, I feel like he's doing it to manipulate. On the other hand, somebody I really love and have compassion for cried once, and it was genuine and unexpected, and I don't feel like he was trying to do it to get a reaction or to manipulate me, but he wasn't ashamed of it. And it didn't turn me off; in fact, I was so sorry I hurt him. Of course, he wasn't bawling and having snot coming out of his nose and all that, he just had his head down, and his eyes were wet. But yeah, other than that one time, it usually just gets on my nerves.

There is nothing wrong with a man that cries. Isnt he human, just like you? Where is your sense of compassion? Doesnt he console you when you cry? Why dont you try to comfort him instead of being petty? Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on... Think about it.
