If you can buy it outright in cash, sure. I would not recommend financing one - unless you need it for a source of dependable transportation.

Motorcycles are interesting, and fun to ride, but they are more for using as a recreational vehicle during the months when the weather is agreeable. Bear in mind you put yourself at risk with a bike, and ask yourself if buying one will be practical. Wouldn't it be better to put the money you have in a savings account for when you will need extra money? Situations always seem to arise that require extra funds, and while owning a motorcycle isn't bad, try to outweigh the fun factor versus practicality, emergency needs, and other issues, such as the fact you stated you had financial problems in the past. Perhaps experience should be a teacher. Lastly, take into account insurance costs-they aren't cheap for a motorcycle. Good luck.

sure if your ready for the extra precautions it takes to drive a motorcycle safely. As with any financial obligations it's not what we can afford it is how we would be able to pay for it. Jobs come and go you probable need enough to make about 3 payments in reserve in bank account, just in case.

Your finances shouldn't be the deciding factor in whether or not to buy a motorcycle. Have you ridden before? Do you have FULL gear (or enough to buy it)? Are you wise enough to start slowly and take an MSF course if you are a first-timer?
Money is pretty far down on the list.

Yep, if you can affored it without overextending yourself financially. Obviously you want one or you wouldn't be asking right? And ignore all the people that scream about how dangerous they are. They are dangerous but as long as your mature about your riding and watch out for the cagers you'll be ok. Have fun, ride safe.

Yeah, go ahead and buy a bike. But first get some training and take a motorcycle safety class. Watch out for the cagers who do not pay attention to motorcyclists. Please wear a helmet to protect your brain bucket.

I used to ride one before I had kids. I have been thinking of getting another one b/c I have a long drive to work each day. I think if you want one then you should go for it. If you have never had one then you should think about taking a ABATE Class. They are a lot of fun so if you get one enjoy. I am in Indiana so I included a link to ABATE of Indiana check it out.

Sure .... but if it's sport bike and if you are under 30 your insurance will be very expensive. Stick with a cruiser and it'll cost you less.
