becoz there may be flaw while welding, or small crakes. and due to high pressure the joint can fail and leakage culd happen. becoz cng tanks have to travel a long distance and due to vibration the welding joints can fail, The strenght of joint decrease while load is repeated, like the load on cng tanks can vary as they have to suffer shocks and vibrations while traveling and the service life of joint decrease.. well im welding engineer if u need any question about welding, u may ask whenever u wish.

Because welds can have flaws in them and give way under pressure. CNG is under very high pressure and any weakness can make them explode like a bomb.
