It depends on the doctor's preferences and on what kind of cut was used in the c-section. If the cut was vertical, most drs will refuse it. Uterine scarring can also be a problem. Some hospitals will not perform a VBAC.
However, a woman's chances of a VBAC are actually very good. Doctors won't always tell you that. Some studies have shown that 80% of women who attempt a VBAC are successful. Check out www.vbac.com - it has a lot of information on the subject.

I work in the OR and YES you can but it depends on the hospital. Where I live starting March 1st none of the hospitals here are going to do VBAC deliveries anymore. If you have had a c-section you have no choice but to have another one. My sister is due in April and her first was natural and second was c-section and she was hoping to have this one natural but they now have said starting in March they will not do it anymore because of liability issues at the hospital and with the whole OR staff. This very possibly could happen other places in the future it is hard to tell. There have just been too many complications with the VBAC method and it is way too risky but yes it is very possible. Everyone is different and that is what you have to remember.

close to none actually, you have to be very careful if you had a c-section before, because Dr.s are concerned that the wound may open again with contractions.. but i have heard that some women had a normal delivery after having a c-section

good, i had a v-bac with my second child. however on the third child the doctor said they no longer use pitocin for labor after a prior c-section. she also recommended i have a c-section the third time because the baby was measuring pretty big. turned out she was same size as second child, almost 9 lbs. I'm glad i had a c-section because that was easier to recover from then that episiotmy i had with second child. i would see what your doctor is recommending for you and let them know what you would like to do. it also depends on how they cut your uterus the first time. if your incision on the inside is vertical i don't think you can deliver vaginally, but horizontally is alright i think.

The way I understand it you can't have a normal delivery again....I think you have to have a cessarian.

Very Slim. It's possible, but the scar on your uterus may tear open while delivering, and sending you in for c-section and surgery. I know there are some doctors that specialize in that area, but a lot of them wont let you even consider it. So you may want to check with your doctor to see if he/she will let you do a natural birth.

My older sister was born normally, I was born c-section, and my little brother was born normally- you absolutely can do it normally after a c-section, assuming you have no complications and don't need a 2nd c-section! (plus, a normal birth is easier, faster and a whole lot less painful to recover from!!)
