If two people from Alabama ague with each other over the internet through emails and they both threaten and harass each other, will either person have a case against the other? Do you have to file charges on someone to get a restraining order?

You have to file a complaint with the police dept before you can get a restraining order. Remember that a restraining order is paper.......it doesn't protect from violence if the suspect wants to ignore the order.

You go to the state's attorney's office. Talk to the state's attorney and he/she will decide if they want to issue a restraining order based on your complaint. You will have to pay a fee. Ours around here is around $50.00. Anyone can get a restraining order. You just have to take the time to do it. Why don't these two people just ignore each others emails, IM's, etc. That would put it to a stop. Keep the emails for evidence.

Yes you have to go to the police dept and take evidence with you and the other person also has the right to do the same and you both have to state your case, seeing how the both of you are both doing it it will be you against them and that means the other person can charge you to.

If they get a divorce are they still brother and sister?
