There is this kid at West Monroe High School, and I was going there right before I dropped out to go to bootcamp. He always wears a black leather trenchcoat. and like odd glasses and a black leather baret. I was kinda scared at school. One day they said over the intercom for no body to where trenchcoats to school anymore. because we shouldnt have to tell you why for you to know., Refering to the columbine shootings. i guess. well i happend to find his myspace and he has pictures on there with him and a collection of "GUNS". when i say guns. i mean a lot of guns. some on there on his captions saying my evil look and stuff. what should i do to go by this and make it clear to authorities to be on the look for this dude? i am really worried about my friends there everyday. i cant go talk to anyone there cuz i do not go there any more.

I always thought that the thing everyone knew about trenchcoats was that they were/are flashers' favourite clothing. Obviously I'm a bit innocent in that area.

(By the way, most of this guy's myspace profile is blocked, unless you are a registered user, so I can't comment upon his chosen collection.)

Is there no way you can contact the school counsellor, or the principal? Write them a letter, or telephone them, or e-mail them? I tend to favour the idea of contacting the school, because, theoretically, the counsellor should have a good idea of what sort of a personality this boy has. He's certainly dressing to make a point: but the question is, what is the point? And his interest in guns is not a good sign. However, there are other signs that would either add to or detract from the dangerous picture you have. Does this guy interact easily with others? Is there a history of him being bullied? Is he on medication for psychological conditions? (The prozac-like drugs have an unfortunate history of increasing depression and tendencies both towards violence and self harm in some individuals.) Is he using illegal drugs? Again, some illegals are strongly associated with violence.

From the way you've written your question, you seem to have considered the issue carefully - I wondered if you were someone prone to rushing to dramatic conclusions, but I don't think that is the case.

So that really does come back to contacting the police, if the school isn't an option, or if you don't have confidence in the school's staff. I think you are afraid of the police rushing in with all their guns blazing: which would be highly counter-productive if, in fact, this guy is all show & hot air. Either that, or you could have a reasonable fear of the police brushing your concerns off. Do you know any police personally? If you could talk to someone you know personally, you might feel more comfortable with what you are doing, and that the matter will be handled responsibly.

Good luck.

My brother fits that description. Even though he is unable to fight his ability of being cool in the underworld and knows how to make an impression while keeping his mouth shut, he is still somebody's baby and a member of my family. He faces prison now where yours old school friend will go, and suffer hell no matter a doubt. Try to find that happy spot in yourself and your dreams instead of nightmares. It is hard to fear nothing, but only your Higher Power you should fear with respect. My brother wore black trench coats, had his head flushed down the stool by football jocks, his car he bought with the little money he had painted, when the next day the cool boys poored tarnish all over it. He listen to music like too heavy of rock it seemed. The other day, as "high up" as he is, he was sure that the Pharmacist was thrilled to see him because he claimed him as one of his only friends in high school. I'm not sure what the distant friend would have thought about those pictures- you have no idea what's wrong with the born wild, just as myself often. I would turn him and his picture into the cops no matter what. That falls under psychotic. Keep it short and sweet and show the picture, and he shouldn't(your friend) even find out. You don't know anything. It was the kid in the black long coat messing up again leaving signatures as that. Wish you well.

I think you know the obvious answer to that question, Josh. If you were to sit on this information, and this really did happen, you will live with that the rest of your life. If you even have a hint that this is possible, then you MUST call the law enforcement authorities so that they can be on watch for this.

Would you rather them be prepared and nothing happen? Or do nothing, an innocent lives be lost? I don't think you want that to happen.

Please, call them now. If you are wrong, then no harm done, you tried to do a good thing. But if you're right, you could save so many lives. Do it now, my friend.

His profile is set to private.
If you're really worried, and he's made any kind of threats, notify the police. If he hasn't, then don't.
I had friends that wore trench coats to school, and they never shot anyone. It was the "good" kids that did stuff like that.

Talk to your parents and/or the school authorities. After that, cross your fingers, pray, or whatever you do along those lines. If anything happens, you will know that you covered your own ***.

You really should go to the police dept and tell them your suspicions, and let the police investigate that way you will clear your conscience.

Just because you have a collection of guns doesn't mean you are planning a shooting.

Ever heard of the 2nd Amendment?

Why don't you try to make friends with him, if you are nice maybe he will let you go to the shooting range with him and try out some of his toys.

If you feel threatened or feel he is a threat to the community call the police. They will investigate.
