Of course it isn't wrong to send friends gifts from the internet. On the other hand you need to be a bit more specific if you do send rings that is a bit unusual. Usually I get/give gifts for the house, paint a picture, ornaments for the Christmas tree or key rings. ;-)

Well, that's just dumb, have you ever even met this chick? Did you tell her it's just a friendship ring? Either way, sending a chick a ring is a no no, if you don't really "love" her. Women interpret things like that way out of context. Don't do that again.

It would be highly inappropriate to propose marriage via the mail. Her mother is insane perhaps, but I hope your girlfiend, if you call her that, has a better head on her shoulders. Friendship rings? You should have presented that in person, too.
