Yes they live a read it in a book. We sold dew worms for fishing when I was a kid. If we broke one the remainder healed and lived.

For the most part it is an Urban Myth. It is said that if you chop a worm in half, the two halves will survive (or at least that's how I have always read it). Fact is, only one half is able to survive and only if all the vital organs are present in that half. They need a lot of luck too. It's not too far removed from a human, being chopped in half. In order to survive, we'd need all our vitals and more! Big Myth then!!

When I chop a worm in half both ends die because they end up on the end of a hook and the fish eat them and if they don't get away I get a good meal

This is an urban myth. They do have both male and female sex organs at each end of their bodies however so they can always have a good time

You get one live worm in agony that may self repair. You don't get two worms.
