The President cannot restore anything to New Orleans, only the citizens can do this. The people of that city prided themselves on the corruption which runs rampant there before Katrina. They bore the Big Easy motto like it was a badge of honor. Since they were only to anxious to re-elect a divisive racist like Nagin for another term I would say nothing has changed in New Orleans and it is destined to return to it's former position of shame in short order.

If the people of New Orleans are waiting for Bush to restore their dignity, then it will never happen. The people of New Orleans have lost their dignity by their own doing, by deserting their city, half of them never to return. What has returned is the gang violence and a skyrocketing murder rate. Katrina and FEMA and welfare did not destroy New Orleans---New Orleanians destroyed New Orleans through neglect. I am a native of Lake Charles, so I am entitled to criticize.

Stop milking this for crying out loud! It isn't any President's job to return a city to it's prior image. Especially when the prior image was one of lewd, debaucherous behavior, out of control drug use and crime with lousy schools.
The people of New Orleans need to get it together and stop blaming others because they lived in a flood zone that is within a known hurricane zone. If it were up to me we would give N.O. back to the French but they don't want it either.

No one can do that not even George Bush. Its to big of a liberal crap hole to ever have its dignity restored. Gets some Republicans in your local Government and watch it grow. Why blame your problems on the wrong people?
