Are best psychics thinking mainly abstractly ?

There is a diference perhaps in the level of thinking- common fortune tellers/clair voyants see the concrete things and prophets can see events and trends in the time flow.

I believe alpha is the brain wave FREQUENCY that is the gateway to psychic ability.

So rhio9, the less you think the more deluded you become? That's the best answer for this kind of thing I've heard yet...

So-called psychics, while possibly offering good advice at times, are not really in possession of any paranormal mental ability. I personally would be elated to find that they were, but it is just not real. These people are good at reading others, and asking broad questions which they narrow down.

Sylvia Brown, for example, is a fake. I love watching her on TV asking about the deceased, getting most of it wrong, then hitting on something and people go oooh, she's right! Of course she's right! The people in the audience told her the answer after she guessed wrong about five times (and blamed it on all the other spirits in the room trying to talk at once). She fools people with her confidence. She's making a lot of money preying on people's hopes and fears. She should be ashamed of herself.

Hi Nadia,

My opinion is that many of the so called psychics utilize trends, history, cycles, and common occurrences in their predictions but I also believe many receive impressions that aren't seeded in their own mind. Probably most psychics who advertise abilities are watching facial expressions, listening to variances in voice tones, etc in order to give their advice. Those who have true capabilities seldom advertise or use their abilities to make money. I've met several people who are truly intuitive and are able to tell me things, very specifically, that they'd have no way of knowing. Many people see auras and can pick up a lot of info in what they see. Others receive mental impressions or vivid imagery.
You mention a difference and I agree. There is a vast array of differences in abilities, in techniques, in means of expressing such and reasons for sharing what they know.

Personally, the less I'm aware of thinking, the better. The less conscious I am of thinking processes, the more accurate and powerful the impressions, the vibrations, the intuitive skills, and the clearer the audio-visual impressions become. I have to find, or create, or generate to my own satisfaction, some kind of intimacy, or relatedness...with someone before access to other-worldly, out-of-body, paranormal, supranormal, parapsychological expressions begin to flow. And sometimes they never do.

Well, Sylvia Browne in her books talks about how the psychic ability comes in through the "emotional" part of the brain. But she says that you need a balance in your thinking, left/right brain to be the most effective.

In other words, yes. it seems plausible to me, but I think that acheiving a balance is the best way to go.

To the other respondents: The question isn't asking for your opinion if you think it exists or not. Keep that in mind.

What they do does not involve thinking in the form we usually think of it : ie Concious Mind. They suspend their thinking mind and let information intuitively flow in. uninterrupted and unjudged. It sounds hokey, but it works.
