Curb what violence? Against animals or humans? Diseases have been transmitted through sources such as fruits and vegetables, including E. Coli. Remember the Spinach disease of a few months ago? There will always be the possibility of disease through food sources other than animals. While not perfect, the FDA does what it can to ensure that most Americans receive and eat disease-free food sources.
