having a big family is good in terms of sharing not only things but love. In a joint family you not only share but care. In a joint family you learn the values of your family and learn and also don't feel lonely. Always in a joint family cheerful bounds on you and there is great interaction between the family members.

Economic:
+You have more chances of financial support. Say if the mother died or father died, the children will be able to give financial support if they are fully working and rich.
Social:
+you have more character development in the siblings because you have family support.
+siblings have a higher rate of socializing because they are forced to talk with their brothers and sisters which builds social skills.
