its a common misconception that Arabs hate all western.which is far from the truth.i live in Egypt for 4 years and i have lived in Qatar for almost five years now.and the people here love Western culture.and Christians are not treated like crap here.they are actually treated better than some Muslims.

and yes Christians are safe, even in Saudi they are.

now Afghanistan i wouldn't go there if i were you.and I'm a Muslim and i wouldn't dare go there either.

Muslims are portrayed in the news only when they're demonstrating (dancing, carrying rifles, goose-stepping in formation, burning flags, etc.)

Any time I've been in Middle Eastern countries, I've never once seen a demonstration like this.

Ever since the first time I came back from Dubai, I've watched our news coverage to see if I can guess which demonstrations are "staged" for the cameras. Here are some things I've picked up on:

Groups are caught facing the camera rather than in random directions
Demonstrators will yell directly into the camera or frequently glance back at the camera
Signs being carried are in English, not Arabic or Farsi

I have spent time in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait and Iraq. The Turks were the most hospitable; the Sauds and the Kuwaitis the least. They viewed us as "non humans" because we were non believers. I was shot at in Kuwait while taking a smoke break; never made a Saud or Kuwaiti ally and knew they hated us from their body language and actions. I view them as bigots and non practioners of the tenants of Islam through their hatred.

The UAE has made a fortune from their hospitality but you will NOT see it replicated anywhere else in the M.E. I won't return. I don't need the grief and quite honestly treat Kuwaitis and Sauds the same way when they are here in the States as they treated me over there.

I was in Dubai and Muslim India and Cairo this summer and was treated with utmost courtesy. My experiences were lovely with everyone. I was impressed by the courtesy actually and found things to be rougher and brasher back in the West when I got home.

In Heathrow I spent a few hours with two young men, a Hindu and a Muslim. They were best friends and the next day I wrote the airport a letter commending them for their kindnesses to me.

Muslims come in all race and creeds.

I found the muslims in Nigeria to be very hostile and rude.

These people want sharia and will stop at nothing to get it.

MOst Middle eastern countries hate christians and are hostile towards them! yet they do come to the so called "christian countries" (their words not mine) and cry that their rights are being infringed on!

That is hypocrisy and If they have a problem with the West.. then they are free to practise their beliefs in the middle East!
