You were in the wrong for lying and you got caught. You need to be responsible for reaping the seeds of deceit that you have sown.

The right thing to do would be to apologize to your former friend for lying to her; she is not likely to forgive you, and I don't blame her, I wouldn't either.

It is the right thing to do for the sake of your friendship you once had and it shows that you still respect her as a person and it could be down the ways, you might be able to mend the rift by reaching out the olive branch of peace now.

If your "new friends" that you "like more" now encouraged you to do this to your friend, who is to say they won't do the same thing with another girl and choose for YOU to be the target of being eliminated for their "group".

Bottom line is if you don' apologize, even to know you are gong to be rejected now, uou could end up having no friends and no one wanting to be your because you are a known deceiver and no one truly wants that in a friend and boys will shy away from you because if you will lie to a friend, they know they would be wasting their time to trust you in a relationship.
