Wouldn't touch any of them with a ten foot pole! MFI is the worst of th lot MFI stands for MUST FIX IT - which is about right - total crap!
The other two are only marginally better
Consider Ikea kitchens - I know - all the probs they have had with Watchdog and all that - that is all over hyped - the amount of complaints about Ikea kitchens is less that 0.00001 of total sales - in otehr words NOTHING!
The thing with Ikea kitchens is they are slighty larger height wise and offer more space at a lot less than those three above - the other thing is - if you decide to use Ikea - make sure you order all that you need - as everything is seperate - right down to the hinges! So make sure you have all you need!
The other thing to consider is that Ikea kitchens are made from stronger materials than most.
But, it is up to you at the end of the day -

Bought a Schreiber kitchen from MFI some years ago and was delighted with it. Carcasses come ready assembled, unlike Hygena. It's all down to having a decent fitter. If a kitchen is well fitted it should last. Have heard, and read, excellent reports about Ikea kitchens too.

MFI no comment...the others have no dealings. Why not make enquiries from a local joiner to price a bespoke kitchen. A little dearer but at the end of the day you will get what you want.
Also unless you are absolutely struck on a fitted kitchen take a look at Ikea. They have kitchens that I consider to be the business as you can add to at a later date if you are on a fixed budget. Not only that they have some really cool ideas.
I wish I had gone for an Ikea kitchen instead of this boring fitted kitchen of mine. I just love that free standing look so innovative as well.

I have a suspicion that the one-independent companies Hygena and Schreiber are now owned by MFI or one of the other big names - I don't think I have seen them on "independent" sale. Some of the most attractive kitchen cabinetry I have seen recently is sold by IKEA, so it might be worth checking them out - the quality looks as good as anyone else's, and the prices are reasonable. Remember that, wherever you buy, all you get is MDF or chipboard with a fancy finish (and maybe with solid wood doors), unless you go for a really tailormade job by Smallbone or some other bespoke company .

MFI stands for made for idiots, and wouldn't touch the other two either. In a kitchen quality is important, why don't you visit your local Howdens Joinery Co. and let them plan your kitchen for free and recommend an experienced local fitter. Yo will be suprised at the difference in quality and choice options available to you. Being a joiner / kitchen fitter with over 20 years experience I would recommend shopping around and using the cowboys you listed as a last resort, you pay your money you take your chances.

A year ago we bought a new fitted kitchen after surveying the market, including looking at IKEA, B&Q, Moben, Kitchens Direct, MFI and a couple of local fitted kitchen companies, we decided on a Hygena Henley design from MFI. Our choice was very much influenced by the helpful design assistance provided and the highly competitive Sale price offer, which included a heavily discounted integrated Bosch Dishwasher. IKEA have downloadable PC kitchen design software, but it is very poor, they are very much a flat pack do it yourself co, Kitchens Direct wanted to impose their design and used pressurised selling techniques which we did not like. B&Q is again a flat pack do it yourself co but quite good and competitive, they also like MFI offer an installation service. Our MFI Installer was excellent and we are very pleased with the result which came in within time promised and within budget.

Hello, i have fitted my own kitchen supplied by B&Q and i have also fitted one from stax and one from ikea. Before deciding on the B&Q kitchen i also looked at MFI and Howarth timber Having seen some and fitted others i would come down on the side of B&Q, not just because thats the one i chose, but for a price/quality comparison i thought it came out top. I decided to go for the solid oak shaker style because it's the type of kitchen that will never go out of fashion.

I have personally fitted out 3 bedrooms with Schreiber units provided by MFI. All parts were present in their boxes and fitted together perfectly. I would certainly use their products again.

I can't comment on those you mention, however I have a few freinds who have B&Q kitchens and they think they are great.
Personally I bought a Moben kitchen and would suggest you avoid them like the plague !! Terrible after sales service.
