especially women!!! WHY? shows like CSI, criminal minds, homicide life on the street NYPD...etc sure some episodes can be abit interesting or entertaining BUT there are sooo many of them going about the same thing, as if we (average person) goes about his/her life examining things at cellular levels.

Personally, I find them interesting because they show things that I would never learn about in real life. They are smart, well-written and I actually have learned from them. I have narrowed myself to watching SVU, Bones and Criminal Minds because as you stated, a lot of them do have the same subject matter and these 3 are excellent shows. I guess it depends on the person. I like these type of shows versus reality shows.

I am a Male Nurse, I work with Nurses and I go through life surrounded by Nursing. What do You think I watch on the idiot box when I finally get home after a long day surrounded by the injured, the diseased, the distraught and the dying?
Cartoons?
Sports?
Coking?
Pornography?
Celebrities?
No. Like the rest of humanity I like to prove to Myself just how smart I am, how intuitive I can be, and how much I know about a specialized subject. As I work in an associated field this genre and the stories are often quite boring. These types of show are designed to give a "lay person" a good feeling about how much They know about Medicine and Science. Television has found a way to demystify Pathology, Anatomy, Chemistry and Physiognomy without actually teaching practical lessons.

I am a woman and I love CSI. Maybe is the interest in morbid things, the fascination of death. By the way its not true, that is always goint about the same things - except death.

I know what you mean, I just loved watching CSI Miami for the writing and acting. It's interesting to see how they solve cases, and we can apply that to our everyday lives in the problems we solve.

They're shows which have some intelligence instead of those idiotic reality shows. They make you think.

perhaps it is so interesting to noe how they find out about the criminals and stuff...but to me sometimes is a little too boring...
