He was a french singer. Born in 1939. He died in 1978. He was famous here in France. He made many hits as "Belles, Belles, Belles", "Alexandrie, Alexandra", "Magnolias Forever", "Le téléphone pleure" ... and he wrote the celebrate "My Way"!!! (in french the title is "Comme d'habitude")

He had a couple of small hits in this country, mainly "Tears on the Telephone".
He was married a few times but was also said to be gay and was obsessed with his health - he apparently weighed himself several times a day.
Oddly enough, he died by electrocution, it is said he was in his bath when the light bulb went and he tried to change it with wet hands (duh!).
I quite liked him when I was about 13 and enjoying French at school.
