We can have both. Security is more important right now. Nobody can spend anything if America gets nuked.

My initial thoughts are for the safety of the people, rather than their pocketbooks. But as I think about it more, if the American people were given their choice of a greater sense of safety or more money in their pockets...I think they would choose the latter. If anything has been proven in the last couple of decades, it is that Americans are 'live for the day' people...and that would lead them to going for the money, rather than the safety of the nation...
