Ok what is the big deal about him bringing his Mom? You have your anniversary and that day should mean much more then Valentines day. You will also go home together without mom and you could continue celebrating romantically then. I have taken my mom out on Valentines with my husband, she was alone and I wanted her to feel special. It's not that big of a deal.

Is his mom a widow? If she is, your husband is just being a good son since he knows that his mom has no one to spend Valentine s day with. You don't have to be angry, but try to understand. I think he is a good husband that you should be proud of. By the way , Valentines day is not a day for couple only. You can spend this special day with your family, the children and other friends too.
At least your husband did not bring his mom with him when you two were dating.(before you got married) ???

I think it's extremely selfish to assume that only you and your husband must celebrate together. After all, if it weren't for his mother giving birth to him, you'd not have him to celebrate with at all.
Valentine's Day is an over-abused holiday to begin with. You should know that you and your husband are in love, regardless of a holiday needing to "prove" it. So let him bring his mother if he wants. I doubt you two will end up making love wherever you go out to dinner, so just save the super lovey-dovey stuff for when you get home. The dinner is going to taste the same whether your mother-in-law is there or not there. The service will be the same as well.
If you have children, or have children in the future and your son or daughter gets married and wants you to go out and celebrate Valentine's Day with them, are you going to appreciate it when their partner gets angry with them for wanting you to go? Probably so.
I hope you can let your anger go and not spoil it for everyone involved.

Arrange another day for your "Valentines Day"... take "mom" she won't be around forever you know. Tell him you and him will have it tomorrow night for example.
We have 3 kids, 2, 4, and 5. Now going out to dinner with them will be so romatic right! Can't find a babysitter, So I am cooking a dinner to celebrate our Valentines Day, and then my husband and I will go out another night. Relax, being angry takes too much energy.

Join the club. My husband bought my engagement saree with his stupid sis(SIL) and not me. I have never worn it after that day and gave my in laws a dose too and let them inform her.Its been 4 yrs of my marriage but still i cant remove the anger . over that the saree is hopeless like mop cloth.Dont worry husbands are like that. Just dont go out with your hubby instead have a celebration at home. if in joint family bring a cup cake and exchange gifts in your room .Best of luck.

Tell him if he invites his mom along, you won't be going. Let his mom be his Valentine. Strangers in the restaurant will think he has an old wife.
