It's a full-grown arrowana. There's a big exhibition held in Singapore every other year featuring fish from around the region. They give out ribbons and awards for breeders and hobbyists who send in their fish to compete. The arrowana fish in the competition are often sold off or get offers from other hobbyists. The first prize winner can ask for $88,888 (Singapore dollars). About US$58,000. Eight is a lucky number for Chinese, because it sounds a lot like 'prosperity' and the arrowana is considered a very lucky fish.. .. Other rarer colour varieties may go for even higher..
