Something to do with Birds finding mates on 14 February, I think!
it's the start of a new season and so is celebrated on St Valentines day! that's today!

We celebrate it because St. Valentine was put in jail because of this religious beliefs and while he was in jail he sent out letters to all his loved ones. That's all I really know if you want to know more you should ask your english teacher.

Apparently St Valentine when he was about to be croaked for his Christian beliefs (he wouldn't renounce them) left a love note for his wench.
