If so, do you think that are REALLY intelligent as a person, or just someone with book smarts with no common sense.

Here is a sample of an IQ test....

Another question--- how much did you get for this test(if you tried it), and how is the test an (in)accurate gauge of your intelligence?

Many people like to believe that a very high IQ has to mean "book smarts with no common sense".

An IQ isn't about book smarts at all, for starters. "Book smarts" is about a person's education. IQ is about how easily a person learns, how well he remembers things, and a number of other mental skills that are combined to come up with IQ.

Some people with high IQ's also get a good education, which makes them have yet more information in their heads. Some people with high IQ's, however, are missed by the schools and get only a mediocre education at best.

There are people who score well on tests of all types of mental skills. They are "across-the-board" intelligent. There are, though, people who score well on most things but do lack the skill associated with common sense. I believe that the part of the brain related to common sense is developed in the first three years of a child's life (see www.zerotothree.org) and that it may or may not be associated with other mental skills that test very high for any one individual.

Since common sense is associated with a broader type of thinking and with "human skills", I believe that many children who aren't as strong in that area but who are strong in ability to focus on more narrow subjects and master them do very well in subjects like math and science. People with a more balanced set of superior mental skills are less likely to want to focus so intensely on some subjects.

As a result, many people who excel in math and science are people who lack common sense; and as a result, the imagine of the very bright person with little common sense as taken hold.

In reality, there are people who score very high on all the tests of mental skills and who can have IQ's well above 130 while also having exceptional common sense.

I got 102, that's just over the middle!! I don't know how it is an accurate gauge of intelligence, maybe a gauge of logic and patience that's all. Matching up patterns can not indicate someones intelligence.

By the way what did you get?? Cmon I told you
