gotta go with the classic amazing spiderman, spectacular just never grabbed me and being the nerd i am i did not appreciate the changes to the legend in ultimates

Well 'The Spectacular Spider-Man' & 'The Amazing Spider-Man' are in the same continuitity, Earth 616. Where as 'Ultimate Spider-Man' is in an alternate reality, Earth 1610. (There are HUNDREDS of different Earths in the Marvel Multiverse.)
I will ALWAYS love the original Spider-Man, so I choose 'Spectacular/Amazing'. I enjoy the 'Ultimate' storylines but it just seems like it is geared for a generation after mine.
Oh, and by the way... Don't call him 'Spiderman', its 'Spider-Man'... It sounds like a Jewish name when you say it all together. The Law Firm of Finestein, Rosenburg, & Spiderman.

Amazing was and still is the original. Spectacular was just the mid-70's second comic book title of Spider-Man and featured other villains and characters. It didn't vary too much from Amazing. Ultimate IS different in many ways, and while some of the differences are interesting, I still have to go with the original, Amazing Spider-Man. BTW, as explained, Spectacular was just a different adjective used on an added Spider-Man comic book, as were Sensational Spider-Man, Web of Spider-Man, Marvel Tales featuring Spider-Man, etc., but I get your point.

Amazing Spider-Man is where it's at. The Ultimates / Ultimate Spidey / Ultimate X-Men / Ultimate whatever - that line is good, but it kind of defeats the purpose of having all this great continuity that authors and artists spent the past 45 years developing.
My vote's for the original. Amazing Spider-Man!!!!

Definately Amazing Spider-man. Ultimate is second. I like the retellings in that series. And Spectacular was only so-so.

Amazing Spiderman is the best. It contains the original cartoons from the first comics.
