Both.
A gift, because I get to wake up with my husband each morning; see him off to work; talk to him throughout the day; hear him tell me he loves me and see that he loves me. I get to spend time with him in many ways and be comforted in knowing that our marriage is solid.
A gift, because I gave birth to my daughter who had to fight like hell to survive after birth. I was able to watch her grow stronger; learn more and thrive in life. I get to hear her addictive laugh; hear her call me "Mommy;" get little kisses for no reason other than because she loves me and knows that I love her.
A gift, because I know I've made a difference to at least one person on this earth. I've done all that I can to be a good person and at the end of the day, if I've done my best, that's all that can be expected.
A chore, because the laundry never ends and the house never stays spotless for more than 5 minutes. I hate food, but have a family to feed, so I cook dinner each night and breakfast each morning.
Both, because despite the fact that I NEVER get a break from being a mother, wife, teacher, therapist, nurse, maid, chef, taxi driver, banker, etc... I know that my life is right where I need to be and that not only do I love, but I am loved.

Both
When I stand in a forest or a garden and become one with my surroundings, as I listen to the birds, the insects, the winds, feel the breeze or sun on my skin, I marvel at the seamless beauty of nature, how it all fits together. I marvel at the intelligence behind such things. I marvel at what we call Allah/God.
I am humbled by it all. This never fails.
breathing is a gift
vision is a gift
Sensing is a gift
Moonlight sparkling in a ribbon on a midnight sea
The ocean blinding as it sparkles diamond brilliant in the sun
Living is a gift
A fresh cup of tea can make life a gift again
The greatest gift was giving life to my daughters
Taking my place in the chain of generations
Every day I think of at least 20 things to be grateful for
Living and love of life is always in there somewhere no matter how dark my circumstances.
It is a chore when I am hit by unexpected expenses and have to get by on nothing.
It is a chore when a loved one passes on.
Life is a chore when there is no hope.
Life is a chore when there is no choice.
Beware the New World Order.

Sometimes life can be a tad too hard on us and it is during those times that I wonder if it's so much easier if I could just end it. No more problems, no more worries. Giving up on life is so much easier as there's a closure. An end. However, when I think of my loved ones and those who have been there for me all along, I begin to treasure my life more.
Hence, I try to view it as gift than more as a chore. All of us has a purpose in life. The onus is on us on how we are able to make full use of our potential and strive towards a betterment.

I view my life as a gift because I'm one of the lucky ones - not materially wealthy, but not too poor either; I have freedom of choice and freedom of speech; I'm able to enjoy what the world has to offer. If I was oppressed or lived in real poverty, then I guess I would say it was a chore, as I would be robbed of life's joys and would just exist. My only regret is that not all the world's people have the same good fortune, and the magnitude of suffering makes me feel helpless.

I think it's a gift. I get to spend my life with the people I love doing the things I love... I couldnt ask for more. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that dont have it as good as me and do think of it as a chore, but I'm all good!!

A gift, people hate doing chores as there is always something else you would rather be doing instead, what could you possibly be doing instead of living??
