Above answer will work, some sientific calculators use the key (shift) instead of (2nd)

You have to use the inverse tangent function.

Depending on which type of calculator you have, you either need to hit [2nd] [tan] .5 [Enter] or .5 [2nd] [tan].

Either way will give you x.
