All the people above are quite naive! To become a professional Film or TV director you need to know all the technical aspects of film/TV making and production, meaning camera, lighting, electricity, art direction, sound, cinematography, editing, lab techniques and effects plus a good load of the history of Cinema.
You should enroll as soon as possible in a Film / TV school to learn all this since you say you don’t know much unless like the above repliers you just want to suffer since it is a lot of hard work and to have fun you must have control over what you are making.
In the US, there are plenty of good schools. In the East coast, you have Emerson College, NYU, or Columbia University. On the Midwest, you have the school of Cinema related to the Sundance festival (now don’t remember the freakn name), and in the west coast AFI -American Film Institute, USC, UCLA or the LA center of Emerson College.
Once you have enough knowledge and while you study try to work in as many films/TV as you can, for free or for payment, join the ACE or AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHERS UNION and then either through contacts or because you know how to substitute money for imagination you can do good movies or shows.
All of the above is OK if you just want to do a home video or U tube stuff which is not professional level and will not get you a job as a director anywhere and also if you say you have passion for film you owe it to yourself and the industry to do good work. Previous suggestion jus will end that many people through the web maybe see your films however they will just be little pieces and besides you do not get to understand how to make a film and how to direct actors just by doing a video production for free. I am a film/TV director and although I studied in the US, I worked in my own country. I know what I am talking about.
If you are not in the US, nowadays almost every country has a decent school of cinematography and TV
Best regards and good luck

Just start at whatever level you can. The technology changes constantly, but there will always be a need for a creative vision to shape a story. Working directors have taken many paths, through videos, digital work, visual art work, commercials.....there is no one way. James Cameron started out as a truck driver, wrote scripts and started directing b horror movies. While keeping his day job. Just figure out how to fit it in, even if it's small bit to go online and do it. Learn editing software and keep learning. Film school is great if you can swing it, but the determination and will is the most important. Oh, and talent. Good luck!

you are still young, you still have all the time in the world. try to be involved first in any small activities alike. experience it and learn from it. you can master your craft through school. if you have any friends or relatives planing to have a party or occassion, volunteer urself and take the chance to video the event. it could be a good start because by then you will know what are the areas for improvements (so far) by reviewing ur project. get some feedbacks and try to compare to similar video available. good luck

i imagine there are colleges for that, yet in case you want to initiate directing right now attempt searching the internet for some self sufficient movie money... Or write a script theory to a huge director and desire that he will like it... or basically shoot it including your cellular telephone and submit it on You Tube...

Grab a camera and direct a film. One could say that Lord of the Rings came from this idea..

if that's what Ur heart desires go for it don't let things get in Ur way. go to a community collage first and take it up then go to a 4 year. the most brilliant minds are those who lurn from scratch and don't know anything cus when they go to school for it there more intrigued and more into it and willing to work more. so go for it.
