Everyother coach walks the sidelines directing their team and shouting plays and what have you. I know Phil is a professional and has been doing it for years but have you ever seen him walk the sidelines? Even when he was coaching the Bulls.

Phil Jackson only gets up when the players do things he doesn't like. When he gets up, it's because he's upset. Otherwise, he really doesn't coach from the sidelines the way other coaches do. When you hear a sharp whistle during the game, it's often Phil signaling his players. That's usually the extent of his sideline coaching. Usually, the assistant coaches do more coaching from the sidelines than Phil does. His tendency to sit pre-dates his hip problems.

Phil's philosphy has been to let the players figure things out for themselves, so he sits back and lets them play and try to learn from their mistakes. Jackson admitted last season that his coaching approach may have cost the Lakers 10 loses last season. I don't agree, I think it was more like 12-14.

No he basically has a sorry lineup of gamers. What grew to become into up with Kobe this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days? He gained that sport in l. a. with a heroic buzzer beater. Then he is going to Phoenix and performs like the sport does not matter. Phil Jackson has some inconsistent gamers that's all. as quickly as he gets a sturdy group he will win back.

because the man is so huge that even when he's sitting and everyone else is standing, he looks like he's already standing up.

no but seriously... he's the "zen master". he has to be the calmest coach in the league... hardly ever gets up from the chair or even just yells. that's always been his style. lately though, he has to sit down because of his hip surgery. i doubt he can do a lot of standing around and walking nowadays.

He has put all his energy into the game. Has no strength left to run up and down the sidelines acting out a buffoon role.

a coach is not required to be a stand up cheerleader...its well known that Phil has a bad hip and when you see him walking around staples it will remind you of that...if you recall he would sit on the bench...put his fingers in is mouth , whistle...and scotty or mike would pick up what signals he would give them without fanfare...
