If he's beating her she needs to leave him. Not only for her good, but for the safety of her children as well. He sounds like a very controlling person and a danger. There are many places she can go if she is worried about retaliation for leaving him. Contact your local law enforcement. They will be able to tell her of her legal rights and if there is a safe house close by. Good Luck. I hope it all works out for her.

Unfortunately, keeping the family together isn't the most important thing here. This woman needs to talk to the police, and maybe a counsellor. If she is dead set on keeping the family, which I believe is too great a sacrifice of her well being, possibly going to a marriage counsellor would help, although I am doubtful that if he is beating her, that it would help.

I strongly believe that taking the children, (just in case, for their safety, since you never know if he might hurt them as he seems to have no issue hurting his wife) and go to the parents house or to a good (preferably female) friends house, talking it out with them, and then calling the police. Nobody should have to put up with that.

Best of luck,
Siobhán

I understand she doesn't want to break up the family. The children might be young, but if she thinks they don't feel the friction permeating the household she is wrong. Children feel and sense everything. If her husband beats her for that then I am sure he is abusive to her in other ways too, and the children feel it. She might keep the family together now, but for sure eventually she will have to break it up. So what does she gain by staying with him now???? The end is sure to come later on.

Really pity your neighbour...poor lady! I suggest that she could try sharing with her gynaecologist or doctor(preferably a lady too) and come up with something like telling the husband she's not well or has some irritation down there (and need medication) so that would probably put him off a bit.
Otherwise,I think he would go for some counselling!!!But if he gets really rough on her,I reckon that she really needs help...POLICE?WOMEN'S protection counsellor?Gosh, give that woman a break!

Good luck!

dont you see the family is broken. this is a power thing for him and he gets off on it. screw convincing him, the man beats her! he doesn't give a rats *** about her if he is hitting her. he has made holding the family together her problem and she needs to find how to deal with it, but if you think she will change him--wrong!! the best she can hope for is to want more for herself, her children, and regain the love for herself so she can understand that no one should ever hit you and especially your partner. please tell your friend to get out b4 that's no longer a option.

I have 2 answers:
(1) I dont know how but I believe that this is good that your neighborer's husband loves her so much and keeps her close to himself and holds her for the whole night long what else in the world does she want???
(2) She shouldnt show that she doesnt like that, coz she can easily sleep with his hand on her boobs but he has to work hard to keep them there. lol!

With a dad like that, sounds like the family is already broken. She needs help to leave.

THIS MAN CLEARLY HAS ISSUES!!!!!!!!
I don't think this friend of yours is very smart either...reason being if he beats her she needs to bail out now before he kills her....no one ever has the right to hit anyone.....secondly if she cant tell him anything without him getting angre with her then he isn't really much of a man to be with....i mean do they not have conversation because she is afraid she will make him mad...i say tell your friend to get out now before its really to late...i mean death....
