I guess I wasn't very clear. But I wasn't just talking about the physical. I was thinking more in the lines of how they're different when it comes to reacting, dating, socializing, etc

That's a very general question. It would depend on the culture and environment that the boys and girls are from and are in. Many cultures put pressure on girls to be feminine and boys to be masculine. However, most western cultures are contradicting these previous notions and there's a new subculture of guys who are more feminine called "SNAGs" (aka Sensitive New Age Guys). There is also a new subculture of women who are called "butch" or "tom girls" who are considered to be more masculine. Experiences such as being raised by a single parent or having siblings of the opposite sex can also determine how one's reactions, socialization skills, etc are developed. Even though I am a female, it is harder for me to understand females than males. At least, from my experience with female friends, I find that they are more complex than males. I find that males are more up front and direct but they are rarely up front with themselves and others when it comes to emotions. Females, in my experience, are the opposite and base their actions, etc on their emotions. For myself, I try to balance the two by being in tune with my emotions (knowing how they effect me and why I'm feeling the way I do) but I also try to be less complex and more logical in my actions. I think the reason why most people think that they are so diverse is because most societies/cultures do not encourage the type of conversation in which you express your needs and wants to the opposite sex and sometimes these feelings/emotions are surpressed which, then, result in problems in the future. For instance, a female can be direct as possible but due to the male's previous experience with females saying one thing but meaning another, he's confused of what the female is saying and there is miscommunication because he doesn't bring it up in conversation.

Hope this helps.

They tend to mature in different ways at different rates, but my answer is this:

When I was a kid and sometimes acted as if my pesty little brother was some horrible person my mother would say, "You know, little boys have feelings. They are no different than little girls are." I would think, "Sure, sure," but I really couldn't get it through my head that my brother was a human - just like me! I almost couldn't get it as far as what my mother even meant!

When I grew up and became the mother of two sons and a daughter I finally realized what she meant - that underneath the physical differences girls and boys are the same in more ways than a lot of people understand.

Girls and boys (like women and men) are humans and are far more alike as humans than many people realize. They tend to do whatever it is that their pals do because most kids don't want to stand out as an oddball. Underneath, though, just as my mother used to tell me, girls and boys all have the issues that go with being young, feelings, insecurities, and all the other things that go with being a young human.

Infants need thier mothers for the first few years of thier lives (humans are the species with the longest need for mothering) this has lead humans men and women to evolve with different reproductive stratigies. This is where the men are from mars, women are from venus thing comes from. We are in different situations, so we have different stratigies.

Aside from the obvious difference in 'pee-pee" structure, WHAT do you mean?

"I was thinking more in the lines of how they're different when it comes to reacting, dating, socializing, etc"
STILL TOO VAGUE. Please narrow your topic down some more: ie "reacting" to WHAT?

Depends on their socialisation. If children were not socialised, you would probably only notice physical differences.
