Rightmove is fantastic you can search by postcode and find properties in a certain radius. That's how I found my place, and it's actually somewhere that I wouldn't have ordinarily considered.

I don't think anyone is best in general, you can get an answer if become specific. For example, country-specific, property type specific, usability specific, reach specific, costing-wise etc..
