Growing up, my mom's best friend was Roy, he was the only male figure in my life and I looked up to him as a grandfather. Sadly he passed away when I was 11. When I was pregnate with my oldest daughter I knew I wanted to name her after him, so her name is Taylor Royanne. She is almost 14 now. It is different but she knows why I named her that and is very proud of it.

I have a friend named Timothy or Tim for short, his first child was a girl named Timi after him.(pronounced Timmy)
So why not just "Roi" ?

RóisÃn it means beautiful.
It could still honor her father because it starts with roi which is a more feminine version of roy.

I like Royalynn or just Roylynn. However, make sure you give her a not extremely unusual but nice middle name just in case. Children don't always appreciate a parent's sentiments and feelings. Personally, I think it is a beautiful thing to name your daughter after your husband. But my parents gave me a rather unusual name (and a boy's nick name) and I HATED it. I would have loved to use my middle name as my name from time to time in my life. Luckily, when I grew up I realized how special it was to have a unique first name and who cares if everyone butchers it when they're trying to pronounce it. They always say it's beautiful once I correct them. :)
