Originality refering to Foucaultès theory of power, which is, power leads to action. Action of others so that they act in a way they would not otherwise have acted. I think it is something about how if the church didn't have this satanic idea about witches people would not necessarily thought badly of them? Not sure though, its part of my sociology class i was just curious if anyone knew.

as the power of the christian church grew, it set out to destory all other religions. claiming followers of the old pagan faiths were satanic and evil was just a way to take total control over the people of other lands that the church took over. also they got to keep their wealth. also many of the leaders of the pagan faiths were the wise women of the clans or tribes. and the church was not going to share power with women. they still dont.
