I installed 2 dvd recorders, when i turn them on , it creates a "hum" on each t.v. that they are hooked up to.

the hum is caused by diffrences in the grounds resistance... a cheap simple way to eliminate this is to get 2 of the old flat wire adapters and connect them together going into your cable box, this will break the ground going into the cable box, i had to do this myself... search yahoo or google for "ground loop" or "ground loop isolation" the 2 flat wire adapters connected together will cost about 5 bucks, but there are some ground loop isolaters on the market, they are (from memory) at least 50 bucks....

If there is a volume control on the DVD recorder that is separate from the TV. You need to turn the DVD recorder up and the TV Down.

If that is not the case. Then you need look into a company called "Monster Cable."
They have a whole line of products that remove electronic interference from everything else in your home.
Expensive, but really does work.

Make sure that all units are sharing the same electrical ground. Possible one or more of the units have a 2 prong power cord. If that is the case, just connect a wire between the cases and the hum should disappear.

Try turning off all fluorescent lighting in the area.
