Yes you can, after your benefits for maternity leave run out. Its just disability pay after that runs out you can get unemployment.I doubt you will get it because they want you to return to work too soon after having the baby so that will make it hard to collect unemployment. My sister just had a baby and that is what happened to her.

No, that would be covered under FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act). You are entitled to time off without pay. For you to collect unemployment, you would have to be unjustly terminated from your employment before you went out for childbirth.

That is the purpose of Unemployment compensation.
You are unable to work.

You have to put in a certain amount in order to draw it out.
Some kind of minimum like 40 hour weeks for 12 weeks I think?

You shouldn't be able to, Having a child is your choice and a luxury, you should have saved for this, that's why your suppose to plan ahead. Now your mooching off my tax paying money cause you made a mistake. Its not like i can get assistants because I bought a new luxury car and can't afford it, its a choice to have a kid and a choice to buy a car. Sick of single moochen mothers

If you have social security from when you retired, and you have been laid off from a job, you are entitled to unemployment benefits even if you are collecting social security retirement. If you are talking about SSI for disability you would not be qualified to collect unemployment benefits from your previous job because you have to be physically able to work.

It depends on your state. In CA, you wouldn't get unemployment, but you would qualify for state disability payments.
