Some women see the mucus plug, some do not. Labor induction can be very long and painful. I was induced with my son and had him 17 hours later. Also, a lot of inductions don't work and you have to have a c-section. I feel for you, I am 38 weeks and 4 days and am ready to have mine also!!! Your best bet is to walk a lot and have sex, otherwise be patient, she will come!!! Good luck!!

Induced labor comes on faster and harder than naturally occuring labor, in general, and increases the chance you will need other interventions. They will want to carefully monitor you which will reduce your ability to find comfortable positions and move around to work with your labor. All this adds up to a greater chance of c section. Finally, since any due date is only an estimate, inducing can lead to a baby being born premature.
Sorry to sound so negitive, but induction should not be a casual choice to schedule the birth or because you are suffering (entirely understandable) frustration with the last weeks of pregancy.

Ive never herd of any side effects on induction but i never really looked into it. Ive just herd people talking about how it can make the contractions come on really strong and fast.

if you are not sure what it is just ask your doctor.Or you can ask your friends that had a baby they should know. I was told that the mucous was to be a white with a pink color to it. it might be a regular discharge but be safe and ask your doctor.

the side effect is usually that you have the baby. A lot is the baby's timing- not just 'cause you're ready. It took me 2 weeks after the procedure to have Stephen. His time- not mine.

I was induced...dont worry about the plug...girl when you get induced, you get special treatment, more pain meds....it makes the experience seem "easy"...have NO fear.
