i'll tell it like it is:

sure they have a great staff and lots of young talents, but how many times will we see this at chavez ravine:

* great win streaks followed by awful losing streaks
* big lead in the west, padres catch the dodgers by september and comes down to that same end of the year "crucial series" with san diego
* no three run bombs

They are looking good. The should be the one's to beat out west this year.

Dodger fans are looking forward to a nice season.

They will definitely do good this season. I'm not sure who will win the West (I'm a Giants fan), but either LA or SD will take it. SF is up to their same tricks by not signing up or trading for true talent, and it will be their downfall again. I hope Jason Schmidt does excellent for the Dodgers!

It is a long season (that has not even started yet) and a million things could happen by the end of September.

But, on paper they are looking like a very strong contender for the NL West Division title.

They made some nice additions this year both offensively and with their pitching. And I can't wait to see Kemp for a full season. With that and the weakness of the NL West, they should win the division this year and could contend for the NL champs.

I love their top 4 in their starting rotation...

In no particular order:
Schmidt- top 5 power type pitcher
Penny- started the AL allstar game last year
Lowe- if it werent for a 4 or 5 series of starts in the middle of last year he may have led the majors in ERA
Billingsley- a good up and coming SP!

A not so old team getting older. Injuries will plauge them again all year. Schmit, while glad to be away from the Bonds insanity, will wish he was still in SF. At best, they'll end up third in the division.

I think they'll be good this year but they will miss Drew and I think they need a new second basemen cause Kent is getting kinda old.JP will be good for them.

They will miss Drew more than people think. But they should win a weak division.

I like what they've done. They are a shoe in to win the NL West!
