just how much income do we get (% of total income each year, including federal income taxes, that the USA gets) by selling our weapons, outdated in our standards, or not outdated, to foreign countries?

i know that other countries like russia sell theirs, or did, so i also want to know if we sell ours just to compete with those others?

but basically, with countries changing their politics, such as venuezela with its soon-to-be supreme, lifelong dictator, hugo chavez, since they just might become our enemy, isn't it prudent NOT to sell our arms to any other country at all?

maybe all we really need do is to have our spies continue to report to the house and to the president and his cabinet what sort of weapons, as well as where they came from, exist in battles all around the world? this way, we will be assured of having knowledge of what "they" are using these days, just in case we must protect ourselves.

links/reasons, please

hahhaa... the first responder basically stole my answer...

but, to repeat, apparently we can't find a country that can put up much of a fight against us... so we have to arm them, overthrow their government and start a nation that can fight us a few years down the road to keep the weapons companies flush with cash...

selling weapons is a very shady business... and history seems to tell... that often times they are turned on you more than they are not...

I'm not sure about the numbers... but it often seems like we give them away to countries that we feel are in our best interest (Afghanistan and Iraq to name a few... oops)...

the only problem that we have selliing them is... we often have the best weapons... would you rather have a russian tank aimed at you or an american one... I'll go up against the russian one any day...

The US is the world's number one military hardware salesman. Russia is ranked second, with China coming up from the pack. North Korea has also been active on the markets as has Israel. The US does it to provide more of a safety net for 'allied' or friendly nations, even though some times those countries will turn around and sell hardware & technology to other 3rd world nations. It's basically a tit-for-tat mentality for all countries. US consumers like to buy nice, new vehicles. World leaders who feel threatened and less secure by today's volatile world have never seen a jet, bomber, missile, or bomb they would not buy.

different than for some erroneous liberals who've their very own schedule for skill sharing it has constantly been the comparable via fact the war of 1812 between those 2 countries. usa grew to become into as quickly as a colony of the united kingdom and grew to become into especially settled via the united kingdom. the two countries love freedom and are prepared to combat for it and help individuals under oppressive regimes who p.c. their freedom besides. whilst the terrorist assaults began they stood mutually to combat it alongside with Russia, and a lot of of the different NATO countries and a few others besides. i'd upload a number of those have been midsection jap and asian countries besides. even with what you may study on YA now and back the regularly occurring public of the two countries do like one yet another or a minimum of tolerate one yet another whether their perspectives variety particularly at cases. the U. America sells weapons to other countries because it serves those that do the selling. Mainly the U.S. Government. The U.S. sold S.A.M.s (Surface to Air Missle) to Osama bin Laden to fight the Russians in Afghanistan during the cold war. During the Kennedy era there was the Cuban Missle Crisis. During Reagan...Iran/ Contra scandal. It seems that as long as there is money, the United States will sell arms to anyone.

It is to keep undeveloped countries from developing. We keep the warlords in check and the warlords keep the civilians in check. As long as undeveloped countries don't develope, then we can exploit their resources by buying them for super cheap.

That's it, like J3nny says.

the US sold arms to Iran, Iraq, all sorts of countries. They gave arms to the Taliban.

Now they can attack to their hearts content.

Near as I can tell, we sell or give weapons to foreign countries so that twenty years later we can accuse those countries of being hostile to US interests and invade them illegally.

Just sayin'.
